What is T-Learn?

T-Learn is the official Learning Management System (LMS) for the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Kenya. It provides teachers with:

  • Professional development courses
  • Training materials and resources
  • Certification programs
  • Continuous professional development (CPD) opportunities
  • Collaborative learning spaces

T-Learn is designed to support teachers' career growth and enhance teaching quality across Kenya.

Who can access T-Learn?

T-Learn is available to:

  • Registered TSC teachers with valid TSC numbers
  • Teacher trainees in approved programs
  • Education officials authorized by TSC
  • Partner organizations working with TSC

You need a valid TSC number or authorization from TSC to create an account.

How do I get started on T-Learn?

Step-by-step guide:

  1. Create an account - Click "Create new account" on the login page
  2. Fill in your details - Provide your TSC number, name, and email
  3. Verify your email - Check your email and click the verification link
  4. Complete your profile - Add your designation, county, and school details
  5. Browse courses - Explore available courses and enroll
  6. Start learning! - Access course materials and begin your journey
Is T-Learn free to use?

Yes! T-Learn is completely free for all registered TSC teachers. The platform is funded by TSC to support teacher professional development across Kenya.

All courses, materials, and resources are provided at no cost to teachers.

Account & Login

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Password Reset Steps:

  1. Go to the T-Learn login page
  2. Click "Forgotten your username or password?"
  3. Enter your email address or username
  4. Click "Search"
  5. Check your email for reset instructions
  6. Click the link in the email
  7. Create a new password

Note: If you don't receive the email within 10 minutes, check your spam/junk folder.

How do I update my profile information?

To update your profile:

  1. Log in to T-Learn
  2. Click on your name/profile picture (top right)
  3. Select "Profile"
  4. Click "Edit profile"
  5. Update your information (designation, county, phone number, etc.)
  6. Scroll down and click "Update profile"

Important fields to complete:

  • TSC Number
  • Designation (Teacher, Senior Teacher, Principal, etc.)
  • County and Sub-County
  • School/Institution
  • Mobile Number
Can I use T-Learn on my mobile phone?

Yes! T-Learn is fully responsive and works on:

  • 📱 Smartphones (Android & iOS)
  • 💻 Tablets (iPad, Android tablets)
  • 🖥️ Desktop computers
  • 💻 Laptops

Recommended browsers:

  • Google Chrome (recommended)
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Safari (for iOS/Mac)

You can access T-Learn from any device with an internet connection!

My account is locked. What should I do?

Your account may be locked after several failed login attempts for security reasons.

Solution:

  1. Wait 30 minutes and try again
  2. Use the "Forgot password" link to reset your password
  3. If still locked, contact T-Learn support (see contact section below)

Tip: Make sure you're entering the correct username and password. Check for CAPS LOCK.

Courses & Learning

How do I enroll in a course?

Enrollment Steps:

  1. Log in to T-Learn
  2. Click "My Courses" or browse the course catalog
  3. Find the course you want to take
  4. Click on the course name
  5. Click "Enroll me" or "Self enroll"
  6. Start learning!

Note: Some courses may require an enrollment key. Contact your course administrator if you need one.

How do I submit an assignment?

Assignment Submission:

  1. Navigate to the course
  2. Click on the assignment
  3. Click "Add submission"
  4. Type your text or upload files (depending on assignment type)
  5. Click "Save changes"
  6. Review your submission
  7. Click "Submit assignment" (this finalizes it)

Important: You must click "Submit assignment" to finalize. "Save changes" only saves a draft.

Tip: Check the due date and submit before the deadline!

How do I take a quiz?

Quiz Instructions:

  1. Open the course and click on the quiz
  2. Read the instructions carefully
  3. Click "Attempt quiz now"
  4. Answer all questions
  5. Click "Next page" to continue (if multi-page)
  6. Review your answers
  7. Click "Submit all and finish"
  8. Confirm submission

Tips:

  • Check time limits before starting
  • Save your work regularly (quizzes auto-save)
  • Review all answers before final submission
  • Some quizzes allow multiple attempts - check the settings
How do I download course materials?

To download materials:

  1. Navigate to the course
  2. Find the file/resource you want
  3. Click on the file name or resource
  4. The file will open or download automatically
  5. Check your Downloads folder on your device

Supported file types:

  • 📄 PDF documents
  • 📝 Word documents (.doc, .docx)
  • 📊 PowerPoint presentations (.ppt, .pptx)
  • 📈 Excel spreadsheets (.xls, .xlsx)
  • 🎥 Videos
  • 📦 ZIP archives
How do I track my progress?

Track your learning progress:

  • Dashboard - Shows overall course progress
  • Course page - Check marks (✓) show completed activities
  • Progress bar - Visual indicator of course completion
  • Grades - Click "Grades" to see your scores
  • Completion status - Shows percentage completed

To view detailed progress:

  1. Go to the course
  2. Look for the progress bar at the top
  3. Click "More" → "Course completion" for details
How do I get a certificate? NEW

Certificate Requirements:

  1. Complete all required course activities
  2. Pass all assessments (quizzes, assignments)
  3. Achieve the minimum grade (usually 70% or as specified)
  4. Meet course completion criteria

How to download your certificate:

  1. Complete the course
  2. Go to your Profile → Preferences
  3. Click "My Certificates"
  4. Download your certificate (PDF)

Note: Certificates may take 24-48 hours to generate after course completion.

Technical Support

I can't upload a file. What should I do?

Common solutions:

  1. Check file size - Maximum upload size is typically 20MB
  2. Check file type - Ensure the file format is allowed
  3. Check internet connection - Stable connection required
  4. Try a different browser - Chrome works best
  5. Clear browser cache - Can resolve upload issues
  6. Compress large files - Use ZIP to reduce file size

If still not working:

  • Try uploading from a different device
  • Contact your course instructor
  • Contact T-Learn technical support
Videos won't play. How do I fix this?

Troubleshooting video playback:

  1. Check internet speed - Need at least 1 Mbps for video
  2. Refresh the page - Press F5 or reload
  3. Update your browser - Use latest version
  4. Enable JavaScript - Required for video playback
  5. Clear browser cache and cookies
  6. Try a different browser - Chrome recommended
  7. Disable ad blockers - May interfere with videos

Still not working? Try watching on mobile data if WiFi is slow.

The page won't load or shows an error. What now?

Quick fixes:

  1. Refresh the page - Press F5 or Ctrl+R
  2. Clear browser cache:
    • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+Delete
    • Safari: Cmd+Option+E
    • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+Delete
  3. Check internet connection
  4. Try incognito/private mode
  5. Try a different browser
  6. Restart your device

If error persists, contact support with the error message details.

How do I report a technical problem?

When reporting an issue, include:

  • Your TSC number
  • Course name (if applicable)
  • What you were trying to do
  • Error message (screenshot if possible)
  • Browser and device type
  • When the problem started

Tip: Always keep your browser updated for best performance and security.

Can I use T-Learn offline?

Limited offline access:

  • ✅ You can download materials (PDFs, documents) to view offline
  • ✅ Downloaded videos can be watched offline
  • ❌ You cannot access the platform without internet
  • ❌ Quizzes and assignments require internet connection
  • ❌ Forum discussions need internet

Best practice: Download materials when you have internet, then study offline.
